Hand Drawn Type
Most people are surprised to find how much type isn’t set with fonts on the computer but hand drawn. This is usually the case with most old signs and billboards, made when type didn’t exist or just wasn’t easily accessible. Typography Served has posted a few nice examples of hand drawn type.

Excellent post and something more people should realise. My Grandfather was a sign writer who also printed on with letterpress and my Mother was a ticket writer who also dabbled in sign writing.
It is a shame to see this beautiful craft fading out.

Hey Mick,
A positive way of looking at this is it creates demand for a specialized talent. The work is then connecting with the people who want it.
