World Cup Design, Just Embarrassing

Erik Spiek­er­mann crit­i­cizes the design con­cept for the 2006 World Cup. I had the plea­sure of hang­ing around Erik Spiek­er­mann at the ATypi con­fer­ence in Lis­bon this past Octo­ber. Erik is one of the most enter­tain­ing pre­sen­ters I’ve seen. Very inspir­ing. And fun­ny as hell.

RIP Bill Stumpf

The new Typophile web­site con­tains a “typowi­ki”. The Typophile Wiki is a “user-cre­at­ed ency­clo­pe­dia of all things type-relat­ed. Users cre­ate and edit Wiki entries with the aim of becom­ing a col­lab­o­ra­tive, use­ful and rel­e­vant resource.”

Copenhagen International Furniture fair

My favorite stop for all things design, Copen­hagen is hold­ing the Copen­hagen Inter­na­tion­al Fur­ni­ture Fair at the Bel­la Cen­ter from the 19 — 22 May 2005. Among some of the exhibitors are Bang & Olufsen A/S, Boli Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed, Cube Design A/S, Habi­tat and WHERE2GO.
